‘Junior Miss US’ Nora arrives in Dhaka

Bangladesh-born ‘Junior Miss’ of the US Nora Ali arrived in Dhaka at 7:40pm Saturday on a 10-day visit.Bangladesh-born ‘Junior Miss’ of the US Nora Ali arrived in Dhaka at 7:40pm Saturday on a 10-day visit.

Nora will attend a function of Kochi Kanther Asar, a US organisation, said member secretary of International Children’s Festival Ashraful Alam Khokan.

She will stay at her relatives’ house and will attend a number of programmes in Gazipur and Dhaka, he added.

Nora, 18, will take part in a village children’s function in H and N College ground, Taraganj in Kapasia, Gazipur on Dec 28. She will meet with the underprivileged children at Radisson Water Garden Hotel Dhaka the same day.

She will attend another meeting with Shishu Kolyan Parisad on Dec 29 and a news conference organised by the International Children Festival-2008 on Dec 30.

Nora was crowned the most beautiful girl in the 50th annual ‘Junior Miss’ contest held at Mobile Civic Centre Theatre Hall in Alabama on June 30.

She also won a scholarship of $50,000 to study at Harvard University.

    Nora wasn’t born in Bangladesh. She was born in USA her parents and grandparents were from Bangladesh.
