India to host Asia Pacific Conference on Reproductive, sexual healthHyderabad : India will host the Fourth Asia Pacific Conference on Reproductive and Sexual Health and Rights in Hyderabad from October 29. The three-day conference being organised by the India Consortium on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights would be on the theme of ”Exploring New Frontiers in Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights.”The conference would provide a platform for people with diverse perspectives, expertise and experience to exchange ideas, discuss and debate issues of concern, and learn from each other about sexual and reproductive health and rights, with specific reference to the implementation of the Programme of Action of the International Conference on Population and Development.

The India Consortium consist of the Centre for Health Education , Training and Nutrition Awareness (CHETNA), Ahmedabad, Centre for Operations Research and Training (CORT), Baroda, Child In Need Institute (CINI), Kolkata, Family Planning Association of India (FPAI), Mumbai, Indian Society for the Study of Reproduction and Fertility (ISSRF), Mumbai, MAMTA – Health Institute for Mother and Child, New Delhi, Population Foundation of India (PFI) and the Humsafar Trust.

The Conference would have parallel sessions, plenary sessions, symposia, satellite sessions, poster presentations and skills building and empowerment workshops. The sessions would be on the theme of ‘Expanding and Empowering the Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights Movement’, ‘Enabling and Realizing Young Peopleís

Potential in Improving Sexual and Reproductive Health’, ‘Equalizing Sexual elationships: Gender, Sexuality and Sexual Diversity,’ ‘Responding to Emerging Issues in Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights: Technology, Ethics and Policy’. The conference would also deliberate on issues like ‘Addressing Unmet Need for Sexual and Reproductive Health Services’ and ‘Making Pregnancy Safe and Wanted: A Non-negotiable Entitlement for Women’.

Moreover, issues like expanding and Empowering the Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights Movement would also be the focus of the discussion. The politics of sexual and reproductive health and rights policy, regulations and legislations, respecting, protecting and fulfilling sexual and reproductive health rights: Country profiles/country report cards and ‘Embracing alternative sexualities: Spaces, choices and voices’. The role of vulnerable populations as agents of change and the sexual and reproductive health and rights movement: Achievements and aberrations would also be discussed. Using international human rights treaties to uphold and promote sexual and reproductive health and rights: Experiences from countries.

A poster exhibition showcasing wide variety of topics like specific sexual and reproductive health and rights related issues would be displayed with a daily change.

Total 800 Scholarships being offered to attend that conference. 220 full scholarships (Inclusive of travel, accommodation, registration fee, dinner and incidental expenses) being offered to specific categories. 580 part scholarships is also available for Airfare and registration fee or Registration fee and accommodation.     it will be done a great effect on my job side if i will learn 4m there any
    things that’s can i apply & also do some work on that in future. again i said
    that it will be kind if i join the conference with the other’s participate. then
    i will learn many things 4m the other’s view about the topic’s and their country
    culture.

    Why did we need our people (Bangladeshi) to attend there as our country is not suffering much like this? Even our country has less people to suffer this type of disease than India. I am happy that India should promote this type of event more in near future.
